Shaken? Stirred? What else could we be talking about today other than the classic martini? Created in 1911 but made infamous by Mr James Bond, nothing exudes class quite like the martini.
Either have it with vodka or with gin and of course mix in a bit of martini (or any other vermouth and thats about it.
Confession time; it's too strong much for me, my tastes are much more towards sweet and fruity things rather than the punchyness of a martini. Because of this you probably won't be shocked to hear that this recipe (as the name may suggest) isn't my own but is one of my besties, V Heslop. I'd never actually tried a martini before until New Years Eve 2022 but had a little sip of V's and that was enough for me.
But why include the recipe then? Well it's a classic isn't it, we couldn't have a blog without the mention of a martini. Also if this was solely a blog with cocktail recipes I like, anyone that doesn't like sweet stuff wouldn't be able to find anything they like so in the interest of being inclusive, we have something here for everyone.
Anyway, enough blather on to the recipe and as suggested above, this one's nice and simple.
Ingredients:
- Hendricks (or any other gin) alternatively you could easily swap this for Vodka. Buy Hendricks from Hendricks here.
- Dry Martini (or other Vermouth.) Buy here from Drinks Direct.
- Ice
- Slice of cucumber
How to make:
- Pour two parts (however big you want them to be) of Hendricks, one of Martini into a cocktail shaker with a generous handful of ice.
- Make sure the lids on properly and then shake for a few
- Serve in either a short glass or martini glass if you have it
- Garnish with a slice of cucumber (or any other garnish if you're having another type of booze.)
- Enjoy
So there you have it the Heslop Turbo Martini, I wouldn't recommend more than one of these but you do you.
