Mothers Day? Fathers Day? Birthday? Just because... we've got you covered with this list of gifts for wine lovers on any occasion. I love shopping for presents, especially when it's something really thoughtful and not a last minute panic purchase, or yet another book off your Dads Amazon list. Speaking of which none of the items in this article or in any of my blog posts will refer you to Amazon. I'd much rather find some gorgeous little small business then send you to the beast.
1. Decanter
A classic but a goody, a great memorable gift to spend a fortune on or seem like you have anyway. Any wine lover either has or wants a decanter and even if they have one they probably want another one.
Farrar & Tanners have stunning options from £35 to £200, you can also get it engraved for extra brownie points.
2. Coravin
Now THIS is the gift for the ultimate wine fan. This is the present for the person who you've probably already bought a decanter for already, they love it, they love wine, what can I possibly get them now? Well let me introduce you to Coravin.
This isn't a corkscrew, (although I definitely thought so at first) it's wine technology at it's finest. No more wine going off because you've had to uncork it, no more sticking a spoon in your leftover bottle of fizz Coravin's preservation system ensures your wine stays fresh for up to 2 years.
3. A wine subscription
Note to anyone who wants to buy me a gift ever, this is what I would like please. I think subscriptions are such a great present option for two reasons; firstly the person receiving the item doesn't just get one little surprise and secondly the person giving the gift gets to split the payment. Joy all round.
I came across this company, The Brixton Wine Club who either do subscriptions or one off boxes of CANNED WINE in gorgeous prints. An instagramming wine lovers dream.
4. Grow your own vines
This requires a bit more effort from the gift recipient but is a great pressie for any relative or friend who loves gardening as much as they love wine. There's a few places you get these little kits from but I always love Not on the High Street for these kind of pressies.
5. Wine cooler/thermos
How many times have you been on a walk and thought, I could really do with a glass of wine? Or probably more normally been at a picnic and wanted to keep your wine cool. Well Partner in Wine offer a range of coloured wine coolers and tumblers perfect for that exact situation. Making the perfect present for the wine lover in your life.
6. Cork collector
I do quite like this as an idea but also I'm not sure I'd want to see how many bottles of wine I'd drank in a certain period. Maybe the person you're giving the gift to doesn't drink as much as me though! I found this lovely British Isles collector version on Not on the High Street, you can purchase here for £19.95.
7. Novely Corkscrew
This is a great one for secret santas. I infamously got my best friend a parrot shaped corkscrew as a panic purchase when my actual secret santa didn't arrive in time but she uses it all the time so who's laughing now hey. You can get a similar Toucan shaped one here.
8. Virtual wine tasting experiences (or in real life ones)
I love a wine tasting, aside from the fact they often don't give you enough. It's a great gift and you can generally get them from places like Virgin Experiences for a decent price. However, if you'd like to mix it up a bit I found this gorgeous company Avino which specialises in home tasting kits with virtual wine tasting experiences so your loved one doesn't even need to leave the house. The kits come with minimum of 6 50ml tasting bottles, tasting notes and a 45 minute video with a trained sommelier to talk you through the notes. Their Rioja tasting experience is only £24.99 as well, find it here.
9. Personalised wine bottle
What better gift for a wine lover than wine? There's always something about having your name on the bottle too that you end up saving the bottles for years after the wine has gone. Fortnum & Mason have great personalised bottles and bundles including this personalised Rose Champagne with chocolates priced at £88.
10. Posters
I'm sure this doesn't come as a surprise that we obviously think the best gift for a wine lover is a poster. You can checkout our selection of wine prints and posters, framed or unframed and with free delivery of course.
